Questions renters ask
What does the apartment listing scan check?
It reads the listing and the landlord's messages and quotes, in their own words, the stated rent, deposit and fees, payment wording that is hard to reverse, details that conflict with each other, what is missing, and the questions to ask before you pay. Every quote is checked against the material you submitted.
Is it free?
The listing review is a one-time $19.99 report. The rental scam and safety guides on the site are free, and so is looking up a property's owner of record.
Can RentalsProof find apartments for me?
Not yet. A research assistant that helps you find and compare rentals is coming soon. Today we review a listing you already found; no listings are searched or verified for you yet.
What does the scan not do?
It does not verify who the landlord or owner is, it does not compare the rent with market prices, it does not confirm the unit is available, and it does not label a listing safe or a scam. It shows what was written so you can decide what to ask. It is not legal advice.
